The Philadelphia Council of Clergy, Inc. now in its twelfth year of existence has over 500 members, including our Women's Division, and reaches 400,500 people through various churches. This year the Philadelphia Council of Clergy, Inc. developed a Women's Division, which already has over eighty members. Our goal is 500 women in 2007. We are the largest African Americans, multi-cultural, religious clergy organization in this city and vicinity. It is our vision alleviate suffering, overcome oppressions and foster justice and peace in the community. We work closely with our government agencies to network for the economic, religious and social advancement of our Pastors and their members by having formed a liaison between City and State Government. Sometimes I feel we are a quasi organization to the city.
Reverend Floyd as Founder has been a full-time President, dedicated to this work for twelve years, serving as a volunteer servant. We are not a funded organization. We have survived through prayer and faith in Almighty God. Pastors of over forty churches have been incorporated under the non-profit status and Federal LD. numbers issued. Over forty certificates have been issued for ordination. We feed, free, over 150 families each week from the Philadelphia Food Bank.
